The 8 Step Formula To Online Success
Step 1. Pick a topic that you're passionate about (or at least get some enjoyment
out of). Make sure it's a topic/market where a good deal of money is exchanged. If not,
pick another topic.
Step 2. Look at how others are making money and building businesses around the topic you've
chosen, and study what's working (i.e., study the products and services being sold successfully
around your chosen topic, and study the MARKETING STRATEGIES and systems behind those same
products and services). This is a KEY step.
Step 3. Get involved in forums and communities centered around your topic (and continue to
research and pay attention to what's successful and what people are buying in relation to your
topic).
Step 4. Start building your OWN community around your topic of choice. I recommend a free
newsletter, but you could start a forum as well (or both). Set up a sales page and opt in form
for your newsletter, and promote that page just like you would a PAID product (with a sales
letter and bonuses). Even though it's a free newsletter, you still need to offer compelling
benefits, convincing people to subscribe. The better the benefits (and the more effectively you
convey those benefits) the more subscribers you'll receive. (Study effective copywriting
techniques!)
Side Note: Any "technical process" such as setting up a newsletter, setting up a forum, setting
up a web page, or even such things as creating a pop up window or copying and pasting an HTML
link can be found on Google for free. It's not necessary to go into depth on the technical
aspects of online business. What's most critical are the marketing strategies and principles you
follow, and that's what I'm providing you here.
Step 5. Work on building a relationship with your subscribers. Send them quality articles or
downloads on a regular basis (information that benefits them and obviously information based on
your topic of choice). What's important is not so much how frequently you contact them, but that
you contact them regularly - consistently. I'd recommend at least once every two weeks.
Step 6. Along with # 5 above, start paying attention to what your subscribers or your community
participants WANT. What is it, in relation to your topic that they are looking for? What problems
are they looking to avoid, or fix, or conquer? With a list of subscribers, this is as simple as
broadcasting emails ASKING (your subscribers) what they want, through a simple survey and bonus
for completing the survey for example. The more effectively you get to know what your subscribers
want, the more effectively you can provide it.
Step 7. Provide your community what they want! This is done through affiliate offers and/or
offering your own products and services. It's common for marketers and business owners to CREATE
products from scratch, based specifically on information that they've gleaned from their
subscribers or the community (forum, social network, whatever) that they've built. I'd recommend
you start out by promoting affiliate products, and then move to creating your own products not
long after. You also get a good feel for what types of products to create from scratch (for what
people want) by what affiliate products are selling best for you.
Step 8. Continue to build your list or community, continue to build your *relationship* with your
list or community, keep in touch with customers, offer backend products to existing customers,
develop new products based on subscriber and customer feedback, work in additional affiliate
offers: Repeat Steps 6 and 7!
The secret here is in the combination of the above otherwise simple steps. Follow them diligently
and they can lead you to success. You don't need 2,500 training courses to succeed
online.

The key to unlimited traffic is one that somehow escapes many newcomers to online
marketing. And yet, it's so simple!...
The key is to start your own affiliate program, where you pay a commission to your "affiliates" -
those who refer customers to your site and your product(s).
Of course, this requires that you have your own product. But these days there are endless places
to get your own products with resale rights or private label rights (just do a search on Google
for "private label rights").

There is an almost fool-proof way to increase the conversion rate of your online
offer. And not any minor increase. I'm talking MAJOR increases in conversions of up to 500%

The secret is to offer a free trial period, or free trial of some sort.
Don't make the mistake of overlooking the POWER of free trials just because the concept sounds
simple. Some of the best converting sites online are those that offer free trial periods.
Think about it. The big "road block" to ordering online is skepticism. People aren't sure about
what they'll get, or what happens when they click that order button. So what you want to do is
eliminate all doubt on the part of your customers with the free trial offer.
If offering a monthly membership site, offer a 7 day trial period. You DO want to take the
payment information up front. But assure your customer that they won't be billed until after the
7 day trial is up. And assure that they may easily cancel at any time BEFORE the trial period
expires.
If offering an ebook (as another example), offer a couple chapters of the book (at different
timed intervals) to your customers during the trial period. Make sure to "leave 'em hanging" so
that they'll really want to receive the next chapter when their billing begins.
This isn't rocket science! Obviously there are some situations in which it's just not practical
or possible to offer a free trial. But in nearly every case I've tested, offering a free trial
increases conversions AND paying customers is a big, BIG way.

Here's a simple way to increase the sales and conversions on the affiliate
products you're offering...
You've probably seen this done, but are you doing it yourself (and doing it in the specific ways
I've explained here)?...
There's really no excuse not to be offering a compelling BONUS OFFER to the affiliates who order
through your affiliate link.
You can quite easily double or triple your affiliate sales this way.
Finding bonus products is fairly easy. Do a search on Google for reprint rights, resale rights,

So what's the ultimate key to selling a product or service?...
It's simply to offer PROOF that the *benefits* you're promising will be delivered upon.
For example, if you're offering a traffic service with the benefit of delivering "1,000 visitors
per week" - you need to do all you can in your ad copy and sales messages to PROVE that you can
deliver on that promise.
One way to provide proof would be to offer testimonials.
Another way would be screenshots of results gained with your product.
Another would be to show the product in action on video.

The more PROOF you can provide to your prospective customers, generally the more sales you'll
make!
Obviously, your ad copy (headlines, sales letters, classified ads, etc.) should spell out the

How To Spot And Avoid Online SCAMS!
It's amazing how skeptical people are these days. Some skepticism is good. But too
much skepticism will cost you!
Don't let your skepticism keep you from success. Apply *knowledge* instead of uneducated, "broad
brush" skepticism, as follows:
1. Participate in communities and forums related to your intended topic of business. You'll learn
what programs real people like you are succeeding in, and which to avoid. If you don't know where
to start, find several good internet marketing forums such as ablakeforum.com. If you're
interested in an opportunity, post it on the board and get opinions. Product review sites are
also excellent for this purpose. Search for "abc site review" or "abc product review" on Google
to see if any reviews are available.
2. If something was sent to you in an email message that you're absolutely certain you didn't
request, it's likely spam. Don't sign up for it, no matter how good it may sound! Of course, you
may have forgotten that you signed up for a particular list or newsletter, so follow due
diligence and never automatically conclude that something is spam without a bit of research or
follow up. Jumping to conclusions is not fair to you, and not fair to the sender.
3. Remember that YOU have ultimate control with any product or service you order with a credit
card. If all else fails, you can issue a "chargeback" through your credit card company. Of
course, do EVERYTHING in your power to contact the company by phone or email (or other) long
before issuing a chargeback. This tip is a last resort, but it's a reminder that you're the one
in control and rarely if ever a helpless victim.
4. Most online newsletters are powered by third parties like Aweber.com or Getresponse.com. Such
services follow strict CAN-SPAM rules (they have to!), meaning you can easily unsubscribe at any
time and won't get "stuck" on any lists against your will. When you opt-in to a newsletter, just
make sure they state clearly that they keep your information private and do not share with 3rd
parties. You can also keep a 2nd or backup email account using gmail, hotmail, or yahoo to join
such lists. So worst case scenario, if something happens you still have your MAIN email account.
Apply this tip and you're perfectly fine subscribing to email publications and newsletters.
5. Avoid hyped claims... There's nothing wrong with making a product sound as good as possible
obviously. If you're the one doing the selling you'll obviously want to list all benefits
possible. But avoid OBVIOUSLY hyped claims such as "you don't have to do any work, and you'll
have cash flowing in hand over fist". The rule of thumb is that online business is still
BUSINESS. You have to work to succeed! There's no magic button to success. NONE. So forget about
it and stop your search right now if that's what you're looking for.
BONUS TIP: Look to see how long a business or web-site has been around. There are many perfectly
legit NEW businesses and opportunities, but to see that a business has been around for years is a
great sign that it's legit and has many satisfied customers.
By applying the above tips you can *move forward* with the business opportunities of your choice
with minimal to no risk, and find the success you're looking for! Don't let an unhealthy level of
skepticism block you from success.
